Recent Happenings

The last couple of weeks we have been having alot of summer fun. We broke out the small pool that we bought last fall and Marshall has loved playing in it. It has the cutest little slide and sprinkler on it, and has been alot of fun in the evenings.
This weekend there was an airshow at the air force base, so we went on Saturday. Marshall got to sit in one of the planes. I think we may have a future pilot on our hands.

Here he is with one of the F-16 pilots. We got to watch him fly later in the afternoon which was Josh's favorite part, I think he may have had more fun than Marshall ;)

They also had a fun area for the kids and Marshall got to drive this little plane around an obstacle course. He peddled it like a bike but it had a joy stick to steer it - they were so cute. He even got a certificate for completing the course.

Then yesterday we got to celebrate Father's Day with the best daddy ever. Marshall made him a card and kept telling him Happy Birthday all day long. I am so blessed to have him as an amazing husband, and he is the best dad! I love watching him with Marshall, he is truly a natural. Happy Father's Day, Josh!

The Vacation Continues

After we went to Disney World we had 2 more days in Florida, so while I was in my conference Marshall and Josh had a great time playing around the hotel. They had a great pool with a small kiddie pool that Marshall loved playing in. He wasn't so sure about the big pool. Here he is with daddy splashing around.

He has also become very independent over the last month and wants to do everything himself. Below he decided to put on his shorts and ended up putting both legs in one hole and pulling it up around his belly. I think he wanted a tube top instead of his shorts :) He thought it was so funny.

This is the view off of our balcony over looking the pool - it was really nice. We even got to see the fireworks from Disney one night from our room.
The trip was great, and we had some wonderful family time together. We all played hard, but we were ready to head home by the end of the week. Marshall did great on the flight, and tried really hard not to fall asleep, but he eventually gave in.

It was such a blessing to get to take Josh and Marshall with me and I can't wait for our next family vacation.

Fun in Florida

Last week I had a conference for work in Orlando, Florida so I decided to take Marshall and Josh along with me. We had an amazing time. Marshall did awesome on the flight and was so excited to get ride on the "airpwane". He talked about it for weeks before we left and hasn't stopped talking about it yet.
Here is Marshall enjoying his snacks on the airplane ride. He did absolutely amazing on the flight, there wasn't a single tear or complaint on the whole flight.

Here he is with his daddy on the airplane. You can see how much fun he was having. He even thought the little bit of turbulence we had before landing, was fun!

After getting to Orlando, I had one free day before the conference started so we decided to go to Magic Kingdom. It was the first time for any of us to go to Disney World, so it was an experience for all three of us.

Here is a picture of Marshall and I on the boat ride over to the park. For those of you who haven't been to Magic Kingdom, once you purchase your tickets and "enter" the park, you have to take either a ferry or monorail over to the park. So it was about a 20 minute journey over to actually get in the park, but I think Marshall enjoyed the boat ride.

About five minutes after arriving in the park, a parade came down the street and we had a great view of it. Unfortunately after a few floats went by, Marshall got completely freaked out, so we quickly moved on :)

I wasn't sure how Marshall would enjoy the rides, but as you can see from these pictures, he absolutely loved riding the tea cups. He also loved riding the cars that he got to steer. He actually did better than most of the adults driving them.

For weeks Marshall has talked about going to see Mickey Mouse and he has said he wanted to give him a hug, so we finally got to the Judge's Tent where you can have your picture taken with Mickey. It was an hours wait, but we had snacks and Marshall insisted on seeing him. He did great in line.

However, once we got in the room with Mickey he quickly changed his mind. By the time it was our turn to take a picture, he was almost screaming. So Daddy stood by Mickey and Minnie and we took the picture as quickly as possible. As you can see from the photo below, Marshall was not thrilled. But of course as soon as we walked out he said he wanted to see him again :)

After the long line to see Mickey we decided to cool off and let him play in the water. They have a small splash area where the kids can play in the water, which was nice considering it was in the mid 90's.

I think that Marshall would have had a better time if he were a few years older, but I am definitely glad that we got to experience it together. Overall it was a great day and a great start to our vacation!

Marshall was a trooper and made it almost all the way to the car before falling asleep. It was a fun day and we made some great memories.
