Room Makeover

We finally decided to re-do our office and turn it into an extra bedroom, so we have been slowly getting rid of furniture over the past few months and I finally decided that I was going to take off a few days and paint the room.

What began as a fairly simple sounding task turned into 5 days of work of removing wall-paper, fixing the texture and painting.

Here is the before picture of the "lovely" wallpaper and trim border around the middle of the room.

After two days I finally got all of the wallpaper removed to find that they had textured the walls around the wallpaper, but not under it.

This is before I started painting the room.

We decided to paint the walls gray and paint a stripe around the room.

It took a lot of preparation but I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out.

And we got some great furniture at Ikea, so now all we need is the bedding and curtains and it should be ready!

August 2010

August was another busy month! We had to get ready for school to start back, we got to help Mom move to her apartment and we got to celebrate 3 more birthdays!

We celebrated my birthday by going to Orr Family Farm. We actually went to see if Marshall liked it thinking we might have his birthday party there, but we quickly realized it was much too hot to plan an August party outside. But we did have a great time, and will probably go back in the fall once it cools off a bit.

Here is the train that goes around the farm. Marshall really enjoyed the train ride!
He also loved riding the carousel, but couldn't quit figure out why there were no airplanes like at Kiddie Land.

They also had jumping pillows that you could bounce on, but due to the 95 degree weather we could only stay on them for a few minutes before our feet started to burn.
Here Marshall is showing how big he is getting. A few more years and will probably outgrow both of us.
We had a great time on my birthday and I was just so glad to get to spend it with my family.

The next weekend we were able to celebrate Bladyn's 2nd birthday, and Marshall loved getting to spend time with his little cousin.

July 2010

This summer was so much fun! We especially enjoyed getting to spend so much time with Aunt Shannon, Abby and Jack! Marshall absolutely loves all his cousins and it was so special for him to get to spend so much time with them this summer. Here are a few pictures from their time together.

We got to spend the 4th at Aunt Chris' and the kids had a good time. Marshall wasn't a big fan of all the loud fireworks, but he had fun anyway.

July was a very fun & busy month and we got to top it all off by celebrating Daddy's birthday! We all spent the day together, and had a great time. Marshall loved singing "Happy Birthday and getting to have cupcakes for breakfast!

And then at dinner Marshall made a point to tell the waiter that it was his daddy's birthday so we got an amazing dessert.

And he topped off the evening with a ride on the bull at the restaurant.
